The Building Code Enforcement Department is responsible for overseeing all demolitions of building structures within the City of Norwalk. To ensure safety, all demolition projects and project managers must adhere to the department's regulations regarding demolition procedures.

Demolition Fees


  • $20 for each $1,000 of construction costs (minimum of $75)
  • Certificate of Occupancy fee: $50
  • Moving a building: $250
