Records Unit

Responsibilities


The Records Unit sorts and indexes the more than 70,000 calls for service each year at police headquarters. Copies required for court, insurance, or other purposes are obtained through this division.

The Records Unit is also responsible for the collection of fees and processing of various permits requested by citizens and various nonprofit organizations. Approximately $100,000 is received from a combination of permit fees, surcharges on reports, and administrative charges, as well as penalties charged for excessive false burglar alarms.
