III. NORWALK SCHOOL PROJECTS
A. Norwalk High School
1. Project update - by Amar Shamas (Program Manager)
2. Review and approve the following change orders:
PCO#00206 $ 6,978.43 Increase GMP Refinish existing wood flooring at the
Archery mini gym per BAC request.
PCO#00233 $ 7,043.57 Increase GMP Remove and replace the existing ceiling at
the Cafeteria/ Dining area with new ceiling.
PCO#00237 $ 11,559.89 Increase GMP Provide additional painting at various
locations within the existing building.
PCO#00238 $ 7,149.00 CM Contingency Provide temporary wiring to certain servery
equipment due to phasing requirements.
PCO#00239 $ 13,569.00 CM Contingency Remove and dispose of asbestos caulking
at pipe penetrations at 2nd floor A house.
PCO#00244 $ 1,936.47 Increase GMP Provide additional sheet metal at Unit
Ventilators due to existing conditions.
3. Review only, changes approved by staff:
PCO#00232 $ 1,047.56 CM Contingency Provide additional pipe hangers for gas
pipe
at the boiler room due to field conditions.
PCO#00234 $ 2,022.58 Increase GMP Provide pipe insulation at the existing heat
lines to the fintube at boy’s locker room.
PCO#00236 $ 4,122.91 CM Contingency Provide final cleaning services for Phase
6.
III.A.4. Review the following and refer to Common Council for action:
“a. Authorize the Mayor, Richard A. Moccia, to execute contract with East Side Movers, Inc. d/b/a ESM Van & Storage for providing moving services for the Norwalk High School Project for a total not-to exceed $41,212.00 Acct #0904-5010-5777-B0310.
b. Authorize the NFCC to issue change orders on contract for a total not to
exceed $4,100.”
5. Review bids and recommendation for the construction of the Culinary Arts
Center. Project summary, recommendation and required action(s) will be presented
at the meeting.
6. Review request for additional funds and approval of change orders for telephone/PA
system and refer the following to the Common Council for action:
“a. Authorize to increase contingency allowance for an additional amount of
$15,238.93 to Total Communications’ contract for the installation of Norwalk
High School telephone/public address system. Acct #09075010- 5799-B0310
b. Authorize the NFCC to issue change orders on Contract for an additional total
not to exceed $15,238.93.”
B. Roton Middle School
1. Project update – by Amar Shamas (Program Manager)
2. Review only, changes approved by staff:
CE#00054 $ 3,385.00 Increase GMP Provide concrete curbing at parking lot
and ADA ramp in lieu of bit. per A/E.
CE#00105 $ 13,701.00 Increase GMP Provide base and wall cabinets at lab 140
per A/E and school request.
CE#00117 $ 2,128.00 Increase GMP Provide misc. masonry wall at ADA
bathroom per field conditions.
CE#00118 $ 2,333.00 Increase GMP Provide stucco at new connectors per
A/E request.
CE#00119 $ 8,485.00 Increase GMP Provide misc. masonry patching throughout
the school due to field conditions.
CE#00120 $ 684.00 Increase GMP Provide grout at door HM frames per A/E
and field conditions.
CE#00128 $ 855.00 Increase GMP Provide ballasts at light fixtures due to
wiring and switch locations per RFI #50.
CE#00131 $ 1,390.00 Increase GMP Provide additional door hardware at various
locations per field and A/E request.
III.B.3. Review the following and refer to Common Council for action:
“a. Authorize the Mayor, Richard A. Moccia, to execute a contract with Signing Star, LLC of Wayne NJ to provide asbestos floor tile abatement services at the Roton Middle School Project for a total not to exceed $ 75,700.00 Acct #0904-5010-5777-B0312.
b. Authorize the NFCC to issue change orders on contract for a total not to exceed $7,500.”
C. Ponus Ridge Middle School
1. Project update - by Amar Shamas (Program Manager)
D. Nathan Hale Middle School
1. Project update - by Amar Shamas (Program Manager)
2. Review only, changes approved by staff:
CA#00015 $ 3,110.00 CM Contingency Replace 6 existing malfunctioning Fire
Alarm devices.
PCO#0053 $ 4,125.00 Increase GMP Provide concrete sidewalk at the
Auditorium egress for ADA per A/E.
E. Norwalk Public Schools Construction Program Reallocation
1. Review and approve the proposed Norwalk Public Schools Construction Program reallocation of 1,147,163.00 to the Norwalk High School project (5th Reallocation) dated 4/23/08.
IV. NATHANIEL ELY CENTER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
A. Review cost report and project closeout
B. Review and approve the following change orders:
CO #129 -($95,793.30) Decrease GMP Final cost adjustment of various allowances
V. BEN FRANKLIN CENTER HEATING SYSTEM CONVERSION
A. Project update
B. Review proposed change order for boiler replacement. Amount to be submitted at the meeting.
