Minutes of November 8, 2005 Meeting
Lack of quorum, no action taken
WIC & AIDS Program Changes
This program is funded by the Connecticut Department of Public Health. The award
is $202,500 per year for the next two years. This is the same amount awarded
for FY 05.
At the current staffing level there will be a $28,000 shortfall. Effective February
1, 2006 one of the two clerical positions will be reduced to 12 hours per week
and fringe benefits will be eliminated.
Mr. Callahan will continue to work with the State WIC Program administrators
to obtain additional funds and or to change the work processes in order to continue
to services clients.
Local Health Grant
The local Health grant application was reviewed. Mr. Lalime and Dr Tracey indicated
their support for the proposal and asked Mr. Callahan to poll the other members.
When contacted via email, Mr. Jimenez, Dr. McNamara and Ms Lemmon responded
in support of the proposal.
Grant funds will be used to fund a part time Healthy Lifestyles Project advisor,
a full time Health Marketing Specialist, computer equipment & software,
strategic planning and grant support.
