Board of Health Monthly Meeting Minutes

Call to order at 8:00 AM

Present: Board of Health – Ms. Donovan, Mr. Lalime, Dr. McNamara, & Dr. Tracey
Staff – Mr. Callahan, Director of Health & Mr. Closter, Director of Environmental Health

Minutes of March 9, 2004 Meeting
A motion to approve the minutes of the February 10, 2004 meeting was made by Mr. Lalime seconded by Dr. Tracey and was passed by a unanimous vote.

Food Establishment Rating Project
Mr. Callahan reported that since the last Board meeting Mr. Closter and he convened a focus group attended by 5 food establishment owners. The rating system was reviewed and the group supported the plan. Mr. Closter reviewed the workings of the rating system with the Board. A motion to adopt the Food Establishment Rating System was made by Mr. Lalime, seconded by Dr. Tracey and passed unanimously.

Personnel Changes
Michael Perillo, the Emergency Response Coordinator resigned and is taking a position with the New York State Department of Health. Several alternatives for this position are under consideration. A plan for a mass distribution clinic is in place. Training staff for their specific tasks is the primary objective for the immediate future. The Southwest Regional Planning Association is serving as the coordinator of a regional response. Participating towns include Norwalk, Westport, Weston, Wilton, Darien, Stamford and Greenwich.
