Minutes of November 18, 2003 Meeting
A motion to approve the minutes of the September 9, 2003 meeting was made by
Mr. Lalime seconded by Dr. Tracey and was passed by a unanimous vote.
Influenza Program
The demand for flu shots is unprecedented. Approximately 3,000 shots have been
given. The vaccine is in short supply. A few more doses may be available through
the CT Department of Public Health.
Proposed Fees
The proposed fee schedule for FY 04-05 was reviewed. A public Hearing will be
scheduled for the January 13, 2004 meeting. A comparison of fees for similar
services offered by area health departments will be prepared and distributed
prior to the January meeting.
Emergency Response Plan Development
Michael Perillo, Emergency Response Plan Coordinator, presented a draft plan.
This plan relies on health department employees and Board of Health members
to fill the varied positions identified in this public health emergency response
activity. During the year 2004, health department board members and employees
will be trained and drills will be conducted.
Other Business
Mr. Callahan updated the Board on a recent court case and developments at the
Norwalk Community Health Center.
