ITT COMMITTEE MINUTES

April 9, 2003

ATTENDANCE: John Lindquest, Ed Schmidt, Gerald Foley, Larry Manzi, Craig Reichenbach, Dave Lepus, Peter Berry, Mike Yeosock, Kevin Poruban,
David Wrinn, Chris Buswell, Fred Gilden, Steve & Dominic (RCC), Neon Communications

Neon Communications gave presentation: they are a core network provider from Washington DC to Maine. Neon designs, monitors and maintains network.

Council approved contracts with RCC for Brien McMahon and Police Department.

RCC stated that the RFP for WAN will be out in early August.

Security Cameras, needs and bandwidth use were discussed.

FEMA grant application would include the fire dept. portion of combined dispatch, remote fire station connections, fire phone systems and laptops in vehicles.

A survey needs to be done to see what wireless possibilities are available.

It was noted that wireless hardware will cost less than $5,000 and would have no recurring costs (leasing fiber will have recurring costs).

Meeting with norwalk hospital needs to be a top priority.

Meeting with other vendors needs to be scheduled.

Traffic demands from sites needs to be determined.

 

The next meeting will be at 3pm in room 231 on April 16th, 2003.
