TECHNOLOGY AND TELELCOMMUNICATION COMMITTEE MEETING ACTIONS

Minutes from the October 16, 2002 meeting were amended and approved.
Mr. Lindquist stated that Mr. Foley did an excellent job in creating the RFP.
Qualifying vendors and evaluating proposals were discussed as well as point values being added to the each of the criteria. It was determined that responses must be in the specific format (order) specified in the RFP and that the responses include a duplicate copy in PDF format. Requirement for vendor to have an office in CT was removed from the RFP.
All questions from the vendors will be sent to purchasing via email and to all the committee members.
RFP was approved by the committee with revisions.
Posting on the Norwalk Web site of the RFP and all support materials including the Mayor's IT Task Force Report, Rand Report, GIS Plan, School Technology Plan, and Oliver Associates Report shall be done for ease of vendor access.
It was also determined that all committee members have password access to vendor responses via the Norwalk web site.
Mr. Schmidt gave the subcommittee assignments as requested by Mayor Knopp.
WAN/Fiber/laser feasibility study will be supplied by BOE when they receive it.
Mr. Lindquest stated The Mission Statement of the ITTC is "To align Norwalk's Information Technology investments to its municipal government value through best practices implementation and enterprise technology support services."
In Closing Mr. Lindquest discussed the scope of the ITTC in that it will encompass enterprise technology goods and services for the shared usage of all participants. This will include hardware platforms and network architecture from the desktop to servers including administrative and management technology and training support. The scope will not include specific application technology other than that used throughout the enterprise. The ITTC can be requested to assist or consult in these activities on an as needed basis.
The next meeting will be on October 30th, 2002 in room 231.
