Miscellaneous/NewItems:
a) Policy on Payphones: Information was received back from CCM.
Stamford, Hartford and other cities all have different policies. We will have
to create our own policy. Hartford has policy to remove all pay phones since
they are primarily used by drug dealers.
b) HR and Time/Attendance system: Tom Hamilton said that BOE has installed
their own time clocks and are looking at human resources and are looking at
munis.
c) Library Circulation System upgrade: Karen Del Vecchio reviewed the current
III contract which goes to June 30, 2007. Tom Schadlich reviewed the existing
turn key system and contract. Tom said he comfortable with the turn key solution
and has not had any issues with the vendor in the past. Tom Hamilton asked
if the IT department could migrate the library to the new hardware. Karen
Del Vecchio said that after reading the contract, the turn key solution would
be the best way to go considering the complexity of the software. Mike Dolhancryk
moved to approve $23,500.00 for the turn key contract and Frank Sarno seconded.
Tom Hamilton suggested spreading out the payment over two years. All were
in favor. Karen Del Vecchio asked if any grant money could cover this cost.
Tom Hamilton said there was none.
Consent Calendar: none
Kevin Poruban stated that the council would like the caucus rooms wired and a pc in each room with internet access (2 drops/room). There was a general discussion about the wiring and needs for the caucus rooms. Mr. Poruban also asked how the south norwalk library was going to connect. Tom Schadlich said that we will be getting a T1 until the MAN is in place.
