Minutes of the August 3, 2005 meeting were reviewed, and the minutes were unanimously approved.
City Telephone Solution Status: Karen Del Vecchio said that AT&T agreement has not been signed and is in the Law Department. Dave Wrinn said that Police phones were down again on Friday for several hours and we still do not have a contact for service or a maintenance agreement. There was a discussion about the AT&T agreement and a maintenance agreement. Gerald Foley recommended getting the Law Department involved and track the history of all the issues.
RCC: Police Station & McMahon: RCC not present.
Status of Cabling RFP: Karen Del Vecchio, Peter Berry and Rachelle Hayes completed a walk-thru of City Hall yesterday and updated the drawings with the changes that were found. Some changes were made directly on the drawings by hand. Other areas still will need a walk-thru. Peter will have the drawings updated.
Status of MAN: Joe Forren (DBO) gave a hardware demo of the
MAN in the BOE Data Center.
The rings for Boe and City were setup and applications were accessed on both
the BOE side and the City side while the fiber was disconnected in one location.
The redundancy proved to work flawlessly as the applications never showed
a glitch. We are still on track for October.
Training: There will be more courses offered by Paula Palermo in the coming months.
Customer Service Center: Karen Del Vecchio stated that the contract went out for the software implementation.
Miscellaneous/New Items:
Law Department Contract Management Software: The Mayor has requested for the
IT Department to research a way to help the Law Department better manage their
contracts. Several contract management packages were reviewed and the Law
department was given a demo to help decide on which product would work best.
The contract software assistant software demo will be loaded on two pc's in
the Law Department and Frank Sarno will research the cost.
Cellphones and ITT communications: No update
Munis Version 2004/ SQL upgrade and migration project: Karen Del Vecchio spoke with Munis about the new version and found that we have to move to the new version 2004 before we can migrate. There will be a meeting with Munis sales next week.
Firehouse software interface to Police dispatch system: Frank Sarno said the
interface was discussed months ago but never implemented. Dave Wrinn said
that we need an enterprise version of Firehouse and the CAD monitor software
or it will not work. Dave Lepus said that the enterprise version of Firehouse
was asked for but not funded for this year.
Consent Calendar:
Authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order to Dell Computer
for 2 Dell Ultra Sharp 1905FP 19” flat panel monitors per Dell quotation 236074314,
dated August 5, 2005, for an amount not to exceed $780.78, account 010500-5741.
(Town Clerk).
Consent calendar moved by Tom S. with Dave Lepus seconding the motion. All
were in favor.
For Informational purposes:
Frank Sarno stated that the Code Enforcement upgrade of cornerstone software
is currently being installed and the vendor is here to train and answer any
questions. The vender and Code Enforcement wanted to know if any departments
would like a demo or training while they are here in the building for a couple
of days.
Dave Lepus explained the phone parking problem and other phone system issues such as the wiring issues in the building. There was a discussion on how the phones work between Police and Fire departments.
The meeting adjourned at 4:12 pm with the committee going to
the BOE data center for the demo.
