ITT COMMITTEE MINUTES
July 7, 2004

ATTENDANCE: Larry Manzi, Karen DelVecchio, Ed Schmidt, Dave Lepus, Craig Reichenbach, Frank Sarno, Ed Toth, Al Kao, Paula Palermo, Joe Forren, Peter Berry.

Meeting was called to order at 1:08 pm

Minutes of June 30, 2004 were reviewed. No changes were recommended and the minutes were unanimously approved.

Craig Reichenbach asked about pulling the cabling out the phone system RFP. Peter Berry said that currently it is just a suggestion and no decision has been made.

City Telephone System: There will be a meeting today at 3:00 pm to discuss the services and systems proposed. Peter Berry said there is a huge range of prices and services. Peter sent out questions to the vendors. More interviews are scheduled for next Tuesday July 13th. Gerald Foley created a template that was sent out to all subcommittee members. Peter Berry has created a spreadsheet with a summary.

RCC: Police Station - AudioVisual phase is 80% complete. Waiting for quote from SBC for the four new positions for 911, to be installed at the old police station in July. Peter Berry said that some issues with the MAN and Phone System must be handled before moving on.

RCC: McMahon - Peter Berry said they are working on the Global Studies FFE budget.

Status of MAN: DBO will be visiting more sites this week. Joe Forren said that some proposed fiber routes needed to be reviewed by BOE, Gilbane and the City. There was a question posed by Joe Forren on if Norwalk Community College wanted access. Ed Schmidt asked about the cost of adding East Norwalk Library and Rowayton Library. Since we are not sure of when Erate funding will be available, Ed suggested we move to plan B (McMahon and Police). Dave Lepus suggested adding the Norwalk Fire Department Apparatus Building to the MAN. DBO was given a month extension (Due date August, 9th 2004) due to the fact that additions were made and the City, BOE and Gilbane need to review the fiber routes.

Customer Service Center: Gerald has received questions back from the vendors. Karen DelVecchio said the she is fielding some of the technical questions.

Backup/Recovery: Hilink has completed discovery phase and are drafting the results.

Karen DelVecchio said that a physical inventory of City Hall and Fire Department PC's will be done by the City IT Department for refreshing the older pc's and to determine what each departments needs are. There was a brief discussion on tracking of assets and monitoring software.

Craig Reichenbach submitted a new request for computers, software and furniture for the Brien McMahon photography lab. This item was tabled until the next meeting to allow the Committee the time to review the request.

The meeting adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
