ITT COMMITTEE MINUTES
October 22, 2003
Meeting was opened at 3:00 in Room 231
RFP (TBD) Norwalk MAN- Peter Berry Reported that Jane Kellogg
claims we have
the RFP correct for Erate purposes. She will formally announce that to us.
Armand will distribute copies to all members and Gerald will assign a new
number for next weeks session. The Board of Ed and Libraries will now have
until November 3rd to finalize the 470 Form. Gerald Foley mentioned that tele
communications should be included in the RFP or we wont be eligable for Erate.
RCC Matrix - All project good progress. The Dispatch estimates
are coming
closer to budget, even with increases in stations.
Dell Pilot project at Rowayton - BoE has delivered the 54 Dells
to Rowayton
and expects then to be in place for use within two weeks.
BoE Server Replacement - Purchase of 8 Dell 2650 for replacement
at the
Middle schools and High schools and Central Office will go to the Common
Council next session. The ITTC voted to approve this project for
replacement purchases of 8 servers as presented.
Briggs Photo Lab Project- Chris did a remarkable job on respecting
and
pricing this project. Alan of the Land Use Committee suggested format
proposals to prepare this for the Common Council. Ed Toth will execute
these changes by noon on Thursday 10/23 so that this will be ready for the
Council's next session. The ITTC voted to approve the project with a Cap of
$26,000.
Backup & Recovery - General discussion - Armand Madeo said
he was
working on the RFP and it will go out as soon as it is approved.

Spam & Virus - General Discussion - additional information next week.
NEW Topics - Network Management - Training for existing operating
systems
and office productivity products will begin next week. Paula Palermo will
organize and conduct this function. This opens the door to a standards
based training program with positive implications for the MAN.
