HEALTH DEPT
Mr. Closter reports rainfall in February of 2.64 inches, vs. 2.18 inches in 2005 and average of 2.52 inches, since 1987. Total year-to-date is 8.15 inches, ….(200) calls received. There was a 9 day closure on Feb 2 that extended to Feb 12, 2006 for rain.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT
Mr. Bartoli reports he spoke to O.M.I. and they are changing their processing to a compression system to produce more solids to help with the odor problem. The blower was working fine.

WATER QUALITY
No report.

PERMITS
Mr. Casagrande reports Fisherman’s World is busy with clamming permits. He also had to reorder sleeves.

POLICE
Sgt LaPak absent. No report.

ADVISORY
Capt Hopp reports water temperature is 39 o Not much ice this year and temperature will go up quickly with expected warm spell coming. Mr. Errico reports seafood show in Boston starts Sunday and goes to Tuesday evening.

HARBOR MANAGEMENT
Mr. Griffin sent comments in. Reports phase one of the dredging of our harbor is finished, after a permit extension, on February 28, 2006. The channel was maintained to minus 10 feet at MLLW from the North side of the Metro North Bridge to the Norwalk Boat Club. Approximately 5/6 thousand cubic yards were taken out of the East Basin Channel, the exact amount to be known after the survey is complete. Details pertaining to damages and issues that need to be addressed before the project is signed off on and paid for are ongoing. Water quality greatly improved due to the fact that materials NOT
suitable for open water disposal, Federal Project, Total Marine, Nor West Marine, and South Norwalk Boat Club all placed and buried in the CAD Cells.

OLD BUSINESS
Permits and transplant activity will be discussed at April meeting. Commissioner Bartoli produced pictures for evidence of boat activity regarding dock at end of Cove Ave.

NEW BUSINESS
Move April meeting back one week from April 6, 2006 to April 13, 2006. Bud Raleigh mentioned former Aquaculture employee Lori Romick now working at Darien Health Department.
