MINUTES OF 12/16/03 MEETING

ATTENDANCE: MATT CAPUTO, SUSAN LLORCA, ANN CAGNINA, ED HOLOWINKO, LARRY LOSIO, JANE CORCILLO, ALEXIS CHERICHETTI

DISCUSSION:

OPEN SPACE

The Commission organized and then discussed the draft documents written by Mr. Mastrangelo, including drafts of a process for establishment of an Open Space Program, process for nominated parcels, a timeline for launch a Program, a timeline for nominations, and a process for establishing a Task Force. Mr. Losio led the discussion that involved assessing each item on some of the previously mentioned draft documents. The Commission discussed changes and additions to the proposed nomination process and began preliminary discussion about an annual schedule. Commissioner Smith had to leave the meeting early.

Commissioner Corcillo suggested that the first step be an Open Space registry as a means to establish an inventory of "what is out there". The Chairman established a subcommittee with the charge of drafting a new annual timeline, ‘fleshing-out’ the nomination process, and reviewing the proposed Guidelines, Attributes and Nomination Form. The subcommittee consists of Commissioners Corcillo, Cagnina, and Llorca.
