CALL TO ORDER
Mr. Kimmel called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
June 4, 2003
Mr. Kimmel stated that "Garfunkel" was spelled wrong in one place and that the rest of the minutes were okay. No one had anything else to add.
**MR. KIMMEL MOVED TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES WITH THE
CORRECTION.
**MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY WITH ONE ABSTENTION
(MR. MIKLAVE).
Mr. Miklave left the room at 7:43 p.m., before the next motion.
Claims Committee: the monthly Claims report dated July 2, 2003
**MR. KIMMEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE CLAIMS REPORT DATED
JULY 2, 2003.
**MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
Ms. Biagiarelli stated that Bed, Bath & Beyond had a mistake in billing, as well as Flaxhill and Townhouse Gardens. She stated that a form has to be filled out by herself and the Mayor for a state reimbursement. She said that the mayor has already signed the form.
Mr. Kimmel asked what exactly the state reimbursement is for. Ms. Biagiarelli said that it was for the elderly and that it would be a cumbersome procedure.
Mr. Miklave reentered the room at 7:47 p.m.
Delinquent Tax Report
Mr. Kimmel stated that there was no Delinquent Tax Report available to be discussed tonight. Ms. Biagiarelli stated that the report had not been discussed yet. She also said that she is in need of more staff because the task is quite overwhelming for her, though she is always happy to do her best. Mr. Kimmel asked how things are going otherwise. Ms. Biagiarelli said that she has been talking to the Mayor about the issue, and that as far as the preliminary goes, they brought in $2.1m. She also stated that they did collect tax outstandings for as long as 15 years, adding that it was a very successful endeavor. Ms. Biagiarelli said that there also people looking to have their deposits returned, though that issue has yet to be resolved.
Mr. Miklave questioned whether there are any homeowners that have yet to be evicted. Ms. Biagiarelli said there were only two residential dwellings in the sale that were sold. She said that to her knowledge both will be redeemed. She added that there is definitely one that she is sure will be redeemed right away.
Mr. Kimmel thanked Ms. Biagiarelli for all of her hard work. She left the meeting at 7:50 p.m.
**MR. KIMMEL MOVED TO SUSPEND THE RULES AND ADD ITEM #4 TO
THE AGENDA.
**MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
Authorize the Additional Capital Appropriation for New Roof-Main Library-Account No. 09036210-5777-C0274-Supplemental Appropriation: $ 72, 080.00.
Mr. Gilden stated that they had gone to bid for the roof on the main library and that it was $72, 000 over what they had originally appropriated for. He added that the bid came to $72,000 more thereby taking money from excess Capital funds.
Mr. Miklave asked if they needed to obtain certification from the finance director. Mr. Gilden stated that they already have one and that they are going to the planning commission tonight.
**MR. KIMMEL MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE ADDITIONAL CAPITAL
APPROPRIATION FOR NEW ROOF-MAIN LIBRARY-ACCOUNT NO.
09036210-5777-C0274-SUPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION: $72, 080.00.
