The Corporation
Counsel's office is the legal advisor of, and counsel for, the City
of Norwalk, its departments and officers, in matters relating to their
official duties and powers. It negotiates, prepares and approves contracts
and other legal instruments to which the City is a party. The Department
gives written opinions on questions of law involving powers and duties
of departments, commissions, or officials. The Corporation Counsel's
Office is organized along functional lines, with an attorney assigned
to each department, commission, or official of the City.
