Norwalk City Hall will be CLOSED on Thursday Feb. 9th due to the storm

We will be updating the City’s website, throughout the storm and have posted information about the snow emergency and preparedness tips as well. The Fire Department is asking residents to ‘adopt a hydrant’. If possible, please clear hydrants closest to your property to help firefighters get quick access during fires. In order to allow Public Works to plow, move vehicles off the street. Vehicles parked on streets marked as snow emergency routes may be ticketed and towed. Residents can park at no cost at the Maritime and Yankee Doodle garages ONLY while the snow emergency/ codered  is in effect. For your own safety, limit travel during this storm and make sure vehicles are free of snow and ice before driving. There is no parking in the open parking lots between 2 AM and 6 AM to allow for snowplowing services. Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this winter storm. In accordance with Norwalk City code, Chapter 99, the snow emergency will go into effect at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2017.Please remove vehicles from streets.Map of Snow Emergency Routes Thursday February 9th garbage and recycling collection has been  canceled,  click here for more information about the garbage and recycling pickup schedule.  Call Customer Service for updates (203) 854-3200 In accordance with City Code: 1.No vehicle shall park or otherwise remain standing upon any snow emergency route when there is present an accumulation of two or more inches of snow or ice for a period of one hour or more between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. of any day. 2.A declared snow emergency shall remain in effect until terminated by announcement of the Mayor. 3.No person shall park a vehicle or otherwise allow a vehicle to stand upon any portion of a snow emergency route. No person shall park a vehicle or otherwise allow a vehicle to stand upon any street in such a manner as to constitute a hazard or obstruction to vehicular or pedestrian traffic or to hamper and interfere with the work of removing or plowing snow or removal of ice. 4.Vehicles in violation of these restrictions may be ticketed and/or towed at owner expense. To report power outages:
