May 14, 2007 - As a condition of the
Connecticut Siting Council's approval of the Development and Management
(D&M) Plan, Connecticut Light & Power provides notice of commencement
of construction in segment 4c Norwalk, which is the final segment of the
Middletown-Norwalk Transmission Project Development and Transmission Plan.
The Middletown-Norwalk route will include the installation of two 345-kV
transmission lines in a single duct bank. The entire route in Norwalk,
from east to west, is as follows:
Westport Avenue (US Route 1) - from Westport town line to North Avenue.
North Avenue (US Route 1) - from Westport Avenue to Father Conlon Place.
Main Street (CT Route 123) - from Father Conlon Place to Ohio Avenue.
Off of Main Street passing under the Danbury Branch of the Metro North
Railroad and emerging on Grand Street.
Grand Street - from Tindale Ave to New Canaan Ave (CT Route 123).
New Canaan Ave (CT Route 123) to Norwalk Substation (located near the
south bound side of Exit 2 off of Route 7.)
As discussed in the D&M plan, the Project Schedule for Norwalk includes:
Civil Work: June 2007 - November 2008
Cable Installation: August 2007 - November 2008
Testing 2009
