Mayor Moccia to form Arts and Culture Advisory Commission
Mayor Moccia announces today that he is in the process of forming an Advisory
Commission on the Arts and Culture for the City of Norwalk.
“With the greatness of Norwalk’s diversity, it is time for us to seek out a plan for innovative and collaborative artistic endeavors that can make the City of Norwalk the Cultural Center for lower Fairfield County,” states Mayor Richard Moccia.
The purpose of the commission will be to develop a plan that will look at drawing together local artists, in the effort to promote all forms of art: visual, musical, dance, drama; which will in-turn enrich all Norwalk.
The Mayor has appointed Becki Christopherson, CEO of the Talent Education Suzuki School in Norwalk, as Chairman, Eileen Ast, Executive Director of the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, Councilman Herb Grant, Renae Edge of the Norwalk Community College, local Musician and Recording Engineer Jim Clark and a board member from the new Carriage House Arts Center.
