“On behalf of the City of Norwalk, I would like to express my appreciation to Governor Rell for the one million dollar grant for the Norwalk Community Health Center. The Health Center, as well as many other non-profits and service agencies, is facing difficult times and decisions.

This grant will allow them to move forward to improve the lives of our most needy citizens. The word “Community” is not only in the name of the facility it is in fact the purpose of the operation. To serve those in the community who cannot afford health care.

The Governor by her actions has taken into account the thousands of persons who have been served by the Health Center and the dedicated and professional manner in which Director Larry Cross and the Board have operated the clinic. Their perseverance and diligence is one of the reasons that the grant was secured. The city owes them all a debt of gratitude,” states Mayor Richard Moccia.
