OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
RICHARD A. MOCCIA
PRESS RELEASE January 4, 2006
Mayor Moccia today affirms the City’s commitment for the Norwalk Land Trust’s mission of preserving the White Barn property.
“Today, I am pleased to announce that the Norwalk Land Trust is not only going to receive my personal commitment to help them meet their goal of saving the White Barn property, but I am pleased to announce that they are receiving the total support from my administration in their efforts to save the property from development,” states Mayor Richard Moccia.
“Keeping the 18-acre parcel on the Norwalk-Westport border as open space not only preserves the colorful history of the theater, but it will also preserve some of the limited open space that Norwalk is so fortunate to continue to maintain.”
"I pledge to continue to fund the “open space fund balance” that had been started by former Mayor Esposito’s administration and will use that money in such a way that maintains and preserves the character of Norwalk", states Mayor Moccia.
