MAYOR RICHARD MOCCIA and PAUL JONES,
CHAIRMAN OF THE NORWALK REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY will be hanging out the first basket
WEDNESDAY, MAY 24, 2006 at 11:00AM at 114 WASHINGTON STREET as South Norwalk and
Wall Street dress up for summer. A total of 80 flowering baskets will be hung
from brackets newly installed on light poles along the streets of South Norwalk
and Wall Street. In addition, 40 planted urns will be placed at sidewalk locations.
The Norwalk Redevelopment Agency has made this first investment as a pilot program
to encourage neighborhood businesses to invest in the beautification of Norwalk’s
urban centers. The following businesses have already volunteered to contribute
to baskets and urns at their locations: Spinnaker Companies, The Maritime Aquarium,
the Maritime Place Condominium Association and Crown Theatres.
