The August 4th tour of businesses that was conducted by myself, Chief Rilling and Health Director Tim Callahan about the trash problems on Wall Street yielded positive results. Most businesses cooperated and the Wall Street area is cleaner. However, several businesses continued to violate the ordinance during the past week, which has been verified by photographic proof. Therefore, these businesses will be receiving the violation notices personally from myself and Hal Alvord, the DPW Director who also assesses a $99 fine. We have now reached the zero tolerance level for littering and we will continue to monitor the Wall Street area. I will also at a later date announce additional measures concerning the Wall Street area to ensure that it is a clean, safe and an attractive area for the people to visit and work in.
