Norwalk Garden Club
We are a very enthusiastic group of women who care about plants and their relationship to the environment

The object of this organization shall be to stimulate the love and knowledge of gardening of amateurs, to share the advantages of association; to aid in the protection of native plants and to encourage civic planting.

We are affiliated with the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Incorporated, which in turn is a member of the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Incorporated. We invite all women and men to join us.

What We Do

Since its inception in 1924, the Norwalk Garden Club has been a very active organization in Norwalk. It has encouraged cooperation with city departments, for example the Parks and Recreation Department and the Department of Public Works. The First Taxing District has worked with the Garden Club for almost 40 years in the planting on the Green.
It has reached out to neighborhood associations and other local organizations like Clean and Green, and worked with them on projects of mutual interest. The Garden Club has worked with schools to educate children. It has also done plantings around schools. It is always on the alert to beautify and to keep Norwalk green, and welcomes suggestions and help from any person, organization or institution. Its members are continually updating their knowledge: learning new ways of gardening through guest speakers, field trips and discussions. Most of all, the Garden Club members love what they do and it shows!
