TAX COLLECTOR FAQ - Question 8 |
Contact us |
| Q: Can I pay my taxes at my local bank? |
| A: Yes. During the collection period only (from the time new
tax bills are mailed through the last day to pay), taxpayers may pay their
tax bills at Norwalk branch offices of the following banks: Fairfield
County Bank, Bank of America, Webster Bank, Patriot National Bank, TD
Banknorth , HSBC, and Norwalk Bank and Trust. You do not have to be
a customer of the bank in order to pay there. Bring the entire lower portion
of your bill (both payment coupons) and your payment. You must pay the
installment due; partial payments will not be accepted at the bank. The
bank will receipt your portion of the bill. The remaining portion of your
bill is forwarded to the Tax Collector's Office, where your account is
updated. If you have questions about this method of payment, call the
Tax Collector's Office at (203) 854-7731. Locations of participating bank
branches are as follows. Please do not attempt to pay your Norwalk
taxes at branch locations outside of Norwalk. Please note that you must
use your payment coupons to pay at bank branches! |
