TAX COLLECTOR - Paying in Person

When paying in person: Bring your bill or statement with you. Bills may be paid at the Tax Collector's Office in the City Hall, 125 East Avenue, Norwalk, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Special Hours: Thursday July 24, 2008 and Thursday July 31, 2008 until 6:30 p.m.; and Saturday, July 26, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m

During the collection period only (from the time tax bills are mailed through August 1 only), taxpayers may pay their tax bills at Norwalk branch offices of the following banks: Fairfield County Bank, Webster Bank , Patriot National Bank, Bank of America, TD Banknorth,HSBC, and Norwalk Bank and Trust. You do not have to be a customer of the bank in order to pay there. Click below on "Paying at Banks" for more information for this convenient way of paying your taxes in person.

Tax bills are due and payable by August 1, 2008.

Delinquent notices and demands for payment of past due taxes are mailed in March and October. Please note that the term, "Demand" is prescribed by state statute and is not meant to imply rudeness toward the taxpayer.
