PARKING AUTHORITY CHAIRMAN URBAN MULVEHILL ANNOUNCES RELOCATION
OF PARKING BUREAU, NEW CUSTOMER FRIENDLY HOURS OF OPERATION, AND ENHANCED
CUSTOMER SERVICES
Mayor Alex Knopp and Parking Authority Chairman Urban
Mulvehill today announced the upcoming relocation of the Norwalk Parking
Bureau from City Hall to the Norwalk Parking Authority’s Customer Service
Center located in the main lobby of the new Maritime Garage, 11 North
Water Street, Norwalk.
“The relocation of the Norwalk Parking Bureau will enable Norwalk’s
parking system to better serve its residents and customers by offering
them expanded days and hours of operations as well as enhanced customer
services. Effective August 9th, the Norwalk Parking Bureau will be open
and expand its days of operation from the current five days a week to
seven days a week. It will also expand its hours of operation from the
current 8:00 am to 4:30 pm to the new hours of 9:00 am through 6:00
pm at the Customer Service Center located in the main lobby of the Maritime
Garage.
“Customers will have the opportunity during these expanded days and
hours of operation to purchase and renew parking permits for any of
our municipal parking facilities or to pay their parking tickets,” said
Mayor Knopp.
“This relocation and expanded service hours is another example of Norwalk’s
move toward ‘smart government’ which enables the City to improve services
by implementing top-to-bottom management reforms,” added Mayor Knopp.
“The Norwalk Parking Authority continues to encourage customers to pay
their tickets on-line via the City’s website, www.norwalkct.org, and
to renew their permits by mail,” stated Urban Mulvehill, chairman of
the Norwalk Parking Authority. “At the same time, the Parking Authority
is pleased to provide customers with the ability to pay in person seven
days a week at the new Maritime Garage.”
“The Parking Authority is expanding hours and days of operation and
providing a more central office location to better serve our customers,”
stated Frank Del Monaco, LAZ Parking Project Manager. Customers may
call 831-9063 if they have any questions or need any additional information.
The Norwalk Parking Authority was created in 2002 to consolidate and
coordinate parking activities within the City of Norwalk in order to
provide better customer service, accountability, and enhanced operations.
The completion of the new state-of-the-art Maritime Garage was the first
project of the Norwalk Parking Authority.
