Mayor Richard A. Moccia
Richard A. Moccia, Mayor of the City of Norwalk, was elected in 2005, re-elected for a second term in 2007, third term in 2009 and fourth term in 2011.
He has a long history of public service for the City of Norwalk having served as a member of the Common Council, Fire Commission, Fair Rent Commission, and Redistricting Committee. He is a former Constable, City Sheriff and CT State Marshal.
Richard Moccia is currently a member of The Maritime Aquarium of Norwalk, Authority & Board of Trustees, Courage to Speak Foundation Advisory Board (drug prevention program); Connecticut Conference of Mayor’s (CCM) Land Use Subcommittee/Chairman; United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) Committees: Transportation and Communications Standing Committee; Vice Chair of Tourism, Arts, Parks, Entertainment and Sports Standing Committee; Water Quality Committee and Membership Recruitment Campaign/Connecticut Ambassador; Mayor’s Alliance for Green Schools (in partnership with US Green Building Council); The Tiny Miracles Foundation Advisory Board (supports premature babies, and families, in NICU’s at Norwalk Hospital and area hospitals); and Tri-Chair of the Fairfield County Campaign for the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County and CCM Board of Directors. He was a member of the Governor’s former Early Childhood Research and Policy Council.
He is also a member of the Norwalk Republican Town Committee; Norwalk Sons’ of Italy - Pietro Micca Lodge; American Legion; and Norwalk Exchange Club.
