  • Bulky items (like furniture, carpet, etc.)
  • Electronics 
  • Glass food and beverage containers
  • Hardcover books
  • Household batteries
  • Household garbage
  • Metal food and beverage containers
  • Miscellaneous plastics with no designated recycling number
  • Paper (mixed, newspaper, and paperboard)
  • Water softeners, once salt has been removed from the tube 
  • Cooking Oil (no limit or fee)
  • Plastic bags with recycling number one through seven
  • Plastic containers with recycling number one through seven  
  • Scrap metal
  • Propane Tanks (Fee)
  • Tires  
  • Vehicle batteries - lead acid                
  • Waste oil: 2 gal max
  • Antifreeze:  See DPW fee Schedule; 2 gal. max 
  • Batteries - Lithium 
  • Freon Appliances (Fee)
  • Oil Filters: 3 filters max per day

Non-Acceptable Items at Transfer Station & Recycling Center
  • Ammunition or explosives
  • Asbestos-containing materials
  • Asphalt shingles
  • Ceramic items (sinks, toilets, etc.)
  • Construction and demolition debris
  • Hazardous materials                
  • Counter Tops (Corian. Laminate, etc.)                  
  • Sheetrock
  • Prescription Drugs
