PRESENTATION BY MR. TED LEMAY - CALEA PROGRAM MANAGER
Mr. Lemay presented a 1 1/2 hour PowerPoint presentation on the new on-site process. Also reported on new standards which will be posted on the CALEA website for discussion and review and answered questions related to the new process and the accreditation process in general.Mr Lemay reported that there are currently 21 agencies in Connecticut that are either in the process or have requested information on the accreditation process, with 13 agencies currently accredited.

Draft policies are posted on website and will discussed and finalized at May meeting. Due to the length of the meeting, this issue was postponed to May.March CALEA conference
Several members attended Jacksonville CALEA conference. Mr Lemay reported on conference issues addressed within his presentation.State Accreditation
CPCA to enter alliance with CALEA. Review of standards pending.Monroe and Torrington almost ready for mock and then onsites. Timing to be determined.
REMINDER: Elections
Election of CONNPAC officers for 2002-2003 will take place at June meeting. Nominations to be received in May. President and Vice-President positions will be open. Treasurer and Secretary will run again and continue in positions if no other members wish to nominate for these positions.
Next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, 2002 - 9:30am - Manchester Police.

I-84 east to exit 60, take a right at the bottom of the exit, heading eastbound.
Get in the left turn lane; dogleg onto West Middle Turnpike, in front of Cheney Tech High School. Bear Right at next 2 traffic lights.
Continue eastbound on Middle Turnpike approximately 5 miles.
MPD will be on the left beyond Manchester High School (right side) and Illing Middle School (left side, next door)
