MEETING MINUTES

Meeting called to order at 11:00

SECRETARY REPORT: No minutes were forwarded from the November meeting.   DC Bouchard will forward to Secretary for posting.

TREASURERS REPORT: Current balance $1273.52. Dues invoice being mailed in January. Dues increased to $50.00 at November meeting.

OLD BUSINESS:
TRAINING: Attempting to schedule training for January meeting in the onsite, panel review system.
BY-LAWS: MMSC to approve new CONNPAC BY-LAWS. BY-LAWS to be forwarded to Secretary by Linda Carlin and will be posted on CONNPAC website.
CONNPAC VIDEO: Linda Carlin to work with small subcommittee to update CONNPAC video. Funds will be requested from Treasury for production work on video. Further information will be made available at January meeting.

CALEA CONFERENCE:
SIRC: Chief Watkins reported on SIRC meeting. Guidelines on safekeeping of department firearms while off-duty was discussed. SIRC will only ask that department's establish guidelines in safekeeping. The new wording eliminated any concerns that were originally to be brought concerning this standard.
REACCREDITED: At the Colorado Springs Conference, Farmington, Granby, New Canaan and Wethersfield were all Re-accredited.
CALEA STANDARDS: Fifth Edition Task Force set up to conduct top to bottom review of all standards and determine whether a new (5th Edition) is necessary or just a reworking of current fourth edition. Task force to complete review by November 2004. Information is posted on CALEA website along with Task Force members and assignments. Feedback from agencies is requested.
ASSESSOR TRAINING: Chief Morgan and others discussed and reported on Assessor Training and Assessor Refresher Training conducted at conference.

CALEA ONSITES -ASSESSOR REPORTS:
Linda Carlin and DC Bouchard discussed recent on-sites they conducted in Georgia and New Jersey.

STATE ACCREDITATION
ACCREDITED: CPCA approved State Accreditation Tier 1 for Ridgefield PD at recent meeting.

POST: Funding now in place and POST to advertise new position to direct State Accreditation program. Position should be filled soon. POST also examining the possibility of Academy becoming CALEA Accredited.

NEW BUSINESS
AVON ONSITE: Avon recently completed their CALEA onsite and all went extremely well.
GLASTONBURY MOCK: Glastonbury has mock on-site scheduled for December 18th.

Meeting was followed by annual holiday luncheon.

Next meeting scheduled for Wednesday,  January 14th, 2003 @9:30am  - State Capitol, LOB
