MEETING MINUTES

Meeting called to order at 9:35

SECRETARY REPORT: Minutes accepted as submitted.

TREASURERS REPORT: No Report

OLD BUSINESS:
CONNPAC VIDEO: Linda Carlin continuing to work on updating CONNPAC video. Training from todays meeting on Compliance Panel being videotaped.

CALEA:
PROPOSED NEW STANDARD 33.6.3: Deputy Chief Bouchard distributed proposed standard 33.6.3, reference Training to be conducted regarding Mental Illness. Members to review proposed standard and forward comments to Deputy Chief Bouchard if they wish him to forward to CALEA.

ONSITES: Berlin and Glastonbury both had their on-sites since the last meeting and representatives of the departments discussed the process and their experiences.

MOCK ONSITES: Enfield's mock on-site was held and went very well. CALEA onsite April 17-21. CSP also had their mock onsite which went well.  CSP scheduled for CALEA onsite April 24-29.

ASAP UPDATE: Members reported the ASAP update was emailed which includes the new  info related to safekeeping of firearms.  Members are advised to include this information in training and firearms recertification to maintain compliance.

CALEA VISIT: Ted Lemay, our PAC liaison from CALEA may attend March meeting to discuss any issues from the PAC. Confirmation will be forthcoming and members will be notified prior to the March meeting.

CALEA CONFERENCE: PAC supports hosting a future CALEA conference in Connecticut. Matter to be further investigated and also to be discussed with Mr. Lemay on his visit.

STATE ACCREDITATION
POST: No new information to report. Director position closed January 30th. Awaiting selection and appointment. Deputy Chief Bouchard advised that many agencies are interested in the process, several are preparing for Tier II and original agencies will be needing onsites. However, although assistance is being given to agencies to work towards onsites, no onsites will be scheduled until POST situation is resolved.

TRAINING CONDUCTED: Following the meeting, training and discussion concerning COMPLIANCE PANELS was conducted and mock panel was conducted and videotaped.

Directions to Farmington Police Department

From Hartford: Take 1-84 west to Exit 38 continue straight onto Rt. 6 and follow Rt. 6 for 3.9 miles. At New Britain Avenue (Traffic Light) take a right. The police department is approximately 3.4 miles on the right.

From Waterbury: Take I-84 east to Exit 37 (Fienemann Road) and take a left at the end of the Ramp. Take a left onto Rt. 6 and follow Rt. 6 for or 3.9 miles. At New Britain Avenue (Traffic Light) take a right. The police department is approximately 3.4 miles on the right.
