MEETING MINUTES

ATTENDEES: Enfield, Farmington, Monroe, New Canaan, Norwalk, State Capitol

Meeting called to order at 9:30

SECRETARY REPORT: Minutes accepted as submitted.

TREASURERS REPORT: Current balance $1079.90. Dues invoice being mailed. Dues are invoiced at $50.00.

OLD BUSINESS:
TRAINING:  Scheduled training for February will be "Compliance Panel", presented by Farmington PD.
CONNPAC VIDEO: Linda Carlin continuing to work on updating CONNPAC video.

CALEA:
SIRC: Deputy Chief Bouchard presented a printout from CALEA website of agenda items from SIRC.  Items discussed.
STATS: Linda Carlin spoke with CALEA while preparing updates for the video and obtained the following stats related to National Accreditation. In the US, approximately 28% of law enforcement officers serving in agencies large enough to report to UCR (25+ members) are in some stage of the accreditation process.

Overall: 630 U.S. - 410 Municipalities -79 Sheriff's - 23 County/Regional - 8 State Police - 6 Highway Patrol - 13 Miscellaneous (Bureau of Investigation, Fish & Wildlife) - 31 University - 3 (Dept. of Detention, Oneida Indian Nation Police  & Ohio Department Taxation Enforcement) -12 Transportation - 1 Communication certification   - 2 Court Security - 4 Training - 5 Housing Authority - 31 Communications Accreditation - 2 Training Academy's, as well as 10 in Canada and 1 in Barbados.


STATE ACCREDITATION
POST: New position to direct State Accreditation program has been posted and will be open until January 30th.

NEW BUSINESS
ENFIELD ONSITE: Enfield on-site scheduled for April 17-21, with public hearing on Tuesday April 20th. Mock Onsite is scheduled for Thursday Jan 29 at 0800 hours.

SIMSBURY STATE ACCRED:  Simsbury scheduled for Tier II assessment on February 13th.  Members noted that the original agencies state accredited are now due for reaccred after their initial five year period. 

Next meeting scheduled for Wednesday,  February 11th, 2003 @9:30am  - Farmington Police Dept

TRAINING: Farmington Police will host February meeting and present training on the Compliance Panel.

Directions to Farmington Police Department

From Hartford: Take 1-84 west to Exit 38 continue straight onto Rt. 6 and follow Rt. 6 for 3.9 miles. At New Britain Avenue (Traffic Light) take a right. The police department is approximately 3.4 miles on the right.

From Waterbury: Take I-84 east to Exit 37 (Fienemann Road) and take a left at the end of the Ramp. Take a left onto Rt. 6 and follow Rt. 6 for or 3.9 miles. At New Britain Avenue (Traffic Light) take a right. The police department is approximately 3.4 miles on the right.
