Meeting called to order at 10:00am

TOPICS DISCUSSED

Representatives from the Greater Hartford Convention and Visitors Bureau made a presentation on their submitted bid for Hartford to host the July 2010 CALEA Conference. The bid was submitted to CALEA after receiving support from affected police departments. Discussion on the bid, role of the police agencies, and the PAC was discussed. Main area of concern was the availability of adequate resources to staff the event and provide the necessary support. Representatives from the Hartford Police Department reported that they are in support of the bid but would need to see more detailed information and specifics on manpower costs.  The GHCVB provided a basic list of the commitment and requirements of the host agency(s) and suggested that the responsibility be shared among Hartford Police, Connecticut State Police and CONNPAC members. Required support from host agency(s):

Specific plans would need to be discussed and prepared if bid is accepted. Committments would need to be obtained from various agencies in support of personnel for the conference.

Information distributed concerning Massachusetts Fall Conference on Police Accreditation, taking place November 6, 7 and 8 in Falmouth, MA. Registration is $200 per person, and accommodations at Sea Crest Resort $130 per person including all meals. More information on registration forms which are available and can be faxed or mailed to those interested.
