MEETING MINUTES

Meeting called to order at 9:40

SECRETARY REPORT: Minutes accepted as submitted.

TREASURERS REPORT: No Report

OLD BUSINESS:
CONNPAC VIDEO: Linda Carlin continuing to work on updating CONNPAC video. MMSC to authorize Linda Carlin to expend up to $500 to complete editing and preparation of the video.

CALEA:
PROPOSED NEW STANDARD 33.6.3: Deputy Chief Bouchard received no feedback on proposed standard and therefore PAC took no position. Most departments are in compliance already and will just need to document their policies and training. Local agencies will provide assistance in this regard.

ASAP UPDATE: Reminder not to download the latest ASAP update if you are having an onsite in the coming months. The changes included on the update are not mandatory at this time and downloading the update may confuse the issue for those departments preparing for an onsite through the summer.

ONSITES: Enfield reported that their onsite is scheduled for April 17 - 21. Their phone in session is scheduled for Monday April 19th from 2:00 - 4:00pm.   860-763-8975. The public session is scheduled for Tuesday, April 20th at 7:00pm at Enfield Town Hall.

CALEA VISIT: Ted Lemay, our PAC liaison from CALEA is scheduled to attend our April meeting to discuss any issues from the PAC. To accommodate the visit the April meeting will be changed to FRIDAY, APRIL 23RD, at 9:30am. The location will be confirmed, but is tentatively set for Farmington PD. Confirmation of location will be emailed to everyone with meeting reminder.

CALEA CONFERENCE: RFP was received by PAC and representatives will be meeting with the Greater Hartford Convention and Visitors Bureau to discuss possibility of submitting bid for a 2007 Conference.

STATE ACCREDITATION
POST: The naming of the Director of State Accreditation program is forthcoming. Interviews were completed and the new director will be officially named shortly. Director expected to begin in mid-April. Plan is for Academy to be CALEA accredited. If so, would be the first state-wide academy in the nation to be CALEA Accredited.

NEW BUSINESS
NEW HAMPSHIRE TRAINING: New Hampshire PAC is holding the annual training May 19-21st in Lincoln, NH. Information distributed.

Next meeting scheduled for Friday,  April 23rd, 2003 @9:30am - NOTE CHANGE IN DAY!
