CALEA

• SIRC - Birmingham
  Technical changes proposed for appendix. Also adding frequency of unannounced inspections under 84.1.6 (d) to be a minimum of at least once per year.
• Revisions Proposed
  Adding 57 new standards and removing 41 standards, yielding a net of 16 new standards with 5th Edition of standards. Draft of standards due in June. Present to SIRC in Boston at July Conference. Post on web for review in August. Finalize in November. 5th Edition due out July 2006.
• Boston Training - CONNPAC assisted with training. Terrorism and suicide bomber; Computer Forensics and Critical Incident training.
• ONSITE Reports - Assessors discussed onsites conducted since last meeting.
  

STATE ACCREDITATION

• Review of AC/TRAC  - Agencies requsting training on using the web based program.
• As of the June POST Council meeting - Expect to have 11 agencies State Accredited as Guilford is due for June meeting. Enfield, Farmington and Norwalk received State Accreditation at May meeting.
• State Standards Review Committee meeting. Hope to finish by year end. Forward any input to Ray Bouchard. - They also hope to evaluate entire process itself and et up guidelines for onsites for each tier.
• State Conference.  Discussion of planning a one day state conference for training as well as to recognize newly accredited agencies in a more formal manner. Subcommittee meeting to begin discussions on this issue. Working on central location, reasonable cost featuring state and CALEA training programs.

MISCELLANEOUS

• Norwalk PD will be hosting June meeting. June 8th meeting will be at 11:00am, followed by light lunch and tours of new Norwalk Headquarters for those interested.

I-95 SOUTH
Exit 15 – South Norwalk. Bear right on ramp to light- Left onto West Avenue. Proceed South on West Avenue. Stay in left lane, take left at fork (4^th traffic light) onto North Main Street. Proceed South on North Main through three lights proceeding under railroad bridge and police headquarters will be on right. Look for public lot on right prior to police building. Park in non-gated public lot and enter through Community Room door located on front (South Main) side of building. Meeting will be held in Community Room.

I-95 North
Exit 14 – South Norwalk – Proceed straight off ramp through two stop signs. Take right at light onto West Avenue and follow above.
