CALEA

• No further responses to letter generated by Washington State PAC President.
• Wethersfield and Farmington all had onsites that went well. Branford also had their initial onsite and it went very well. Manchester and Norwalk were in the final day of their onsites but appear to be going well.
• 5th Edition Crosswalk is available on CALEA website and 5th Edition Manuals being sent to agencies.
• CALEA did not make any adjustments to 5th Edition standards as was recommended by PAC.
• New Hampshire asked CALEA (SRIC) for a waiver of standard 16.3.3 since most of their employees are part time and they can not comply with standard. Waiver denied and they may end their relationship with CALEA.
• Corporate Affairs Committee Report From November 2005 noted that Redman WA requested an exemption from copyright provisions in order to utilize their own computer program to track compliance.  Corporate affairs recommended that the exemption be denied and that Redmond, WA be declared withdrawn from the process.
• Florida has withdrawn from the alliance program
• CT Alliance - Three main issues are of concern to any alliance with CALEA. 10 Agencies with 25 or more personnel would be required to move to full accreditation after their initial recognition period. 2) Assessor Training and Use of CALEA Assessors and 3) Requirement of verbatim language in standards.
• Five CT agencies scheduled for hearings at July conference in Kentucky. Manchester, Norwalk, Farmington and Wethersfield up for re-accreditation and Branford for initial accreditation.
• Brief discussion on possibly hosting conference in July 1999, sponsored by CSP, Hartford PD, CONNPAC and Greater Hartford Convention and Visitors Bureau.

 

STATE ACCREDITATION

• DMV Truck Inspection Division reviewing process. Windsor PD interested in beginning process in near future.
• State onsites scheduled: Ridgefield Tier III - May 15, 16, 17; Wallingford Tier I - Summer; Wolcott Tier I - Possibly June or September; Simsbury is now finishing Tier I and West Haven pending.

MISCELLANEOUS

• Ted LeMay is scheduled to attend June meeting to discuss 5th Edition Rhode Island PAC members will also be attending. Meeting is being moved to Farmington PD. Refreshments will be served.
