MEETING MINUTES

ATTENDEES: Avon, Branford, Capitol, CSP; Guilford, Hartford; Judicial Marshall's Office;Manchester, Monroe, New Canaan, Norwalk, POST,   Shelton, Trumbull, UCONN; West Haven, Wolcott

Meeting called to order at 9:35

SECRETARY REPORT: Minutes accepted as submitted.

TREASURERS REPORT: Balance $2376.83 

OLD BUSINESS:

VIDEO: CALEA video almost complete.  Awaiting final additions and copying. Once complete the State Accreditation video will be started.

ELECTIONS: PAC elections will be held in January 2005.  Nominations will be taken at the December meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

CALEA:
Austin Conference:  Next CALEA conference is scheduled for Austin Texas. Letter from CALEA sent to all PAC's advertising the conference and requesting attendance.

Hartford Conference Bid: Awaiting contact with Hartford Convention and Visitor's Bureau. Presentation to be made at CALEA Conference.

ONSITE: CCSU reports their onsite went well. They hope to be recommended for reaccredidation at Austin Conference.

Judicial Marshall's Training Academy preparing for Spring Onsite from CALEA.

STATE ACCREDITATION:
POST approved the State Accreditation program, process, standards manual and assessors manual.

Training went well. 35 Chiefs; 55 Accreditation Managers and 9 Previous invited assessors were trained for the State program.

Newtown scheduled for Tier 1 onsite November 2nd.

CALEA agencies need to forward CALEA onsite report and the 8 files and proofs to POST. POST Council will review and approve State Accreditation. Avon pending, and will be first agency under the new program. Appears most CALEA agencies will be entering the State Accreditation process.

23 departments are involved in the State Accreditation program thus far.

Assessor training notices sent out for November 15th training at POST. For more information contact Ray Bouchard. Overview and Accreditation Manager training will be repeated.

State Assistant Accreditation Manager position is pending.   Candidate has been identified.

Next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 10, 2004 @11:00am @ UCONN followed by lunch.

RSVP to Cindy Sullivan UCONN PD if attending by November 3rd. Lunch will be served.

December meeting will be moved to Thursday December 9th at 9:30am at POST.
