Meeting called to order at 09:42
Treasurers Report: Current account balance is $1,343.40
Secretarys Report: Minutes accepted from June meeting.
State Accreditation
Program on hold at this time. Expect that once new POST Director is named, the State Accreditation position can then be filled. Next State Accreditation meeting is September 16th at 9:00am. Ridgefield and Torrington are ready for mock on sites.
NEW BUSINESS
CONNPAC Plan and Goals
Linda Carlin and Cindy Sullivan discussed long term plans for the PAC. They distributed
information and sample brochure and Bylaws for members to review. Changes or
corrections are asked to be forwarded to Cindy Sullivan. The issues will be
discussed in detail at the September meeting, including increasing dues and formalizing
committees etc to grow CONNPAC membership and benefits of membership. Brief discussion on
amount to be charged for dues. Currently dues are $25. Considering raising dues to
$50, $75, or $100 per year. Members are asked to email tkulhawik@norwalkct.org with their preference on
amount to be charged for CONNPAC dues.
CALEA
Detroit conference was not well attended. SIRC did adopt the new Missing
Persons Standard despite the fact that most comments on the Website from the field were
against adopting a new standard. SIRC also discussed new standards for Firearm Safety and
others which will be posted on the CALEA Website for comment and acted upon at the next
conference.
Berlin is having their mock onsite and Glastonbury and Avon will be requesting mocks in October.
CALEA forwarded letter reminding everyone that the standards are copyrighted and not to be used in any other ASAP type program.
Four CT agencies will be having Reaccred hearings at Colorado Springs conference.

BY-LAWS/PAC Changes
TRAINING
Lt Daly reported that their is an introductory training program being
conducted by Sylvester Daughtry of CALEA, in Rhode Island on September 25th. Cost $50.00.

Next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 8th, 2003 @9:30am - State Police Forensics Lab - Meriden
NOTE: Training to be presented at October meeting concerning Incident Command System. Approximately 2 hour presentation. PLEASE RSVP of planned attendance to Linda Carlin by October 3rd. Email CarlinL@farmington-ct.org.

The Accreditation Seminar will focus on a discussion of what is involved in the CALEA accreditation process, the costs, benefits, and what to be prepared for during the process. Sylvester Daughtry, Jr., Executive Director of CALEA, will be the luncheon speaker. A panel discussion scheduled for the afternoon will include chiefs of accredited New England police departments, a city/town administrator, and Mr. Daughtry will focus on the experience of the panelists and questions raised by attendees. Police chiefs are encouraged to invite their city/town administrators.
Class enrollment is geared to Chiefs, Senior Management, and Town/City Executives.
The cost for the seminar is $50.00, which includes materials, breaks and lunch. Checks should be made payable to the Roger Williams University School of Justice Studies, One Old Ferry Road, Bristol, RI 02809. Lodging information for out-of-state attendees is available.
