Proposed new standard 41.2.X regarding the reporting and investigation of elder abuse/neglect. CALEA seeking input on proposed standard.
- ONSITES

Wilton is looking to have a mock on site for Teir one the 3rd week of Oct. possible the 16th. Please post with the minutes and request volunteers. Those that are interested can contact me be email cmscharf@aol.com or wt work 203-438-6531
Bethel reported on their recently completed CALEA onsite. Appeared to go well. They will be attending the CALEA Conference for hearing.
Request for all members to become involved in assisting on state and/or CALEA mock onsites. Excellent way to learn and once trained and more experienced can provide great assistance to other agencies and remove burden from the core group of current assessors.
- STATE OVERVIEW
Currently 20 agencies state accredited and 32 currently in the process. Ted LeMay asking for agencies to email sample ISSR's to him for use in work file. . With each agency submitting perhaps 5-10 standards all 100 Tier I Standards would be easily covered. Ted can split up the stahndards requested. Contact Ted LeMay at the Academy for further.
- STATE STANDARD REVIEW (FTO PROGRAM)
Discussion regarding state standard concerning Basic training and FTO Program. As it currently reads, it can be interpreted that those in the FTO program should not be carrying firearms. This was obviously not the intent, and the wording will be brought to the POST Accreditation Committee for review and perhaps clarification.
- CALEA FINAL REPORT CHANGES
CALEA is changing the format of the final report and onsite process. Panel review will be discontinued and the final report format has been redesigned. Tables and charts will be included to document compliance with various standards and sections combined to shorten overall report and reduce duplication.
- STATE VS. CALEA & CONN PAC MEETINGS
PAC working to make meetings more productive and bring together both state and CALEA agenices. Although the programs are different both share similar standards and require similar file construction and proofs of compliance. Discussions on specific stabndards would be fairly applicable to both state and CALEA agencies. Therefore the focus of the PAC will be on meeting the needs of both CALEA and state accredited agencies as well as those seeking either certification. Training will be sought to assist the membership and ideas on training needs should be forwarded to Cliff Scharf. Meetings will continue on a monthly basis on the first Wednesday of each month, primarily at POST which is centrally located.
- NEW JERSEY ACCREDITATION CONFERENCE/TRAINING
The New Jersey Public Safety Accreditation Coalition will be holding their 2007 Conference November 1st and 2nd. Various training programs are being offered and past attendees report it is very worthwhile. Brochure is attached attached.
- POLICE REQUESTS/CONNPAC EMAIL LIST
Due to the increase in the number of policy requests, the PAC has determined that all requests will be held and then included with the meeting minutes. Agencies will be asked to bring the policy information to the next PAC meeting where it can be discussed amongst all members. This will reduce the number of emails and duplicated efforts, and provide for better understanding of issues for all members. Policy requests can be emailed to Tom Kulhawik who will include with the minutes of the meeting and email one list to all.
POLICY REQUESTS - PLEASE BRING POLICIES TO NEXT MEETING
No requests received
Meeting concluded at 11:00 am.
NEXT MEETING SCHEDULED FOR 10:00AM - WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 3RD - CLASSROOM 5 - POST, MERIDEN.
