NETWORK SETTINGS:
Windows Vista:
Click on "Start", then "Control Panel",
select "System and Maintenance", then "System",
then "Device Manager" , the select "Expand Network Adapters"
in the right pane, then highlight and right-click "Wireless Adapter"
, select "Properties", and "Advanced" tab. Once
in the advanced tab, click on the properties you want to change on the
left, and then select its value you want to change on right.
Windows XP:
Click on "Start", then select "Settings", select
"Control Panel", then select “Network Connections”
Right-click on “Wireless Network Connection” or “Local
Area Connection” and click on "Properties".
Locate and select the "TCP/IP protocol" that is associated
with your wireless adapter, and click on its "Properties".
Select “Obtain an IP address automatically” and select “Obtain
DNS server address automatically”
Then click "Ok", then click "Close".
Right click on “Wireless Network Connection” and select
“View Available Wireless Networks.”
Select the name of the wireless network available for access to the
Norwalk Wi-Fi Zone and click “Connect”.
Windows 2000 :
Click on "Start", then select "Settings", select
"Control Panel", then select “Network and Dial-up Connections”.
Right-click on “Wireless Network Connection” or “Local
Area Connection” and click on "Properties".
Locate and select the "TCP/IP protocol" that is associated
with your wireless adapter, and click on its "Properties".
Select “Obtain an IP address automatically” and select “Obtain
DNS server address automatically.”
Select the name of the wireless network available for access to the
Norwalk Wi-Fi Zone and click “Connect”.
Window NT:
Click on "Start", then select "Settings", select
"Control Panel", then select “Network".
Locate and select the "TCP/IP protocol" that is associated
with your wireless adapter, and click on its "Properties".
Select “Obtain an IP address from a DHCP server”, then click
"Ok", then click "Close".
Restart for the changes to take effect.
Windows 98 :
Click on Start, then select Settings, select Control Panel, then select
"Network".
Locate and select the "TCP/IP protocol" that is associated
with your wireless adapter, and click on its "Properties".
For IP Address, select “Obtain an IP address automatically.”
For DNS, select “Disable DNS.”
For WINS, select “Use DHCP for WINS resolution.”, then click
"Ok", then click "Close".
Restart for the changes to take effect.
Mac OS X with Airport Extreme software
Click on the Airport Status icon in the menu bar and verify that
Airport is turned on.
Select the name of the wireless network available for access to the
Norwalk Wi-Fi Zone and click “Connect”.
