The Operations Division is under the direction of the assistant fire chief. It is the largest division in the Norwalk Fire Department and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of most of the department, including emergency responses.
The Operations Division is also responsible for:
Evaluating and purchasing all firefighting equipment and fire apparatus
Issuing and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Maintaining the department's seven buildings
