The standard flu shot is recommended for anyone 6 months of age and older. Individuals ages 3 and up can be vaccinated at the Health Department's community clinics. For individuals ages 6 months to 3 years old, please call the front desk (203-854-7776) for more information.
High-dose flu vaccine is an option from those ages 65 and older.
On the day of the clinic:
- If you have a fever or do not feel well on the day of the clinic, please stay home.
- Wear a mask.
- Please bring all insurance cards with you.
- Please wear short sleeves for easy access to your upper arm.
If you have any of the following health insurances, your insurance will cover the cost of your shot: Medicare Part B, Medicaid, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, ConnectiCare, Oxford, and United. Please bring all your insurance cards with you.
Otherwise, the standard flu vaccine costs $25 per person, and the high-dose flu vaccine (available for patients 65 and older) costs $50 per person. No one will be turned away because they are unable to pay.
