The Norwalk Tax Collector’s office would like to remind taxpayers that the deadline to pay taxes without penalty is February 1, 2019. Please see the attached release for more information.

(Norwalk, Conn.)  The Norwalk Tax Collector’s office reminds taxpayers that they have until Friday, February 1, 2019, to pay their property tax bills for real estate, motor vehicle, business personal property, and sewer use charges.

Bills must be paid by February 1 to avoid interest charges. Interest on late payments will be charged at the rate of 3 percent beginning on February 2. This represents 1.5 percent interest per month for the months of January and February.

The Tax Collector’s office is located at Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Avenue, Norwalk, Conn. 06856, and is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office does not close for lunch. Taxpayers are encouraged to pay by mail. Payments postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service on or before February 1, 2019, are timely, regardless of when the Tax Collector’s office received it.
